# Nova Sewing Return Policy – Nova Sewing Centre
Please read our return policy carefully before placing an order. By purchasing from Nova Sewing Centre, you agree to these terms.
1. Return Authorization (RA) Required
All return requests must be submitted **in writing** by emailing **nova@novasewing.com**.
We will provide a Return Authorization number (RA#).
**Any items returned without a valid RA# will be refused and returned to sender at your expense.**
2. Order Cancellation
– Cancellations are only possible **before the order has shipped**.
– Once an order has shipped, it cannot be cancelled.
– If you cancel a pre-shipment order, a **5% processing fee** will be deducted from your refund.
3. Claims for Damaged, Missing, or Incorrect Items
Any claims for damaged goods, missing items, or incorrect shipments must be reported **within 2 days** of receipt (based on carrier delivery records).
Please include photos of the issue when contacting us.
4. Returns & Exchanges – General Conditions
– Returned items must be **unused, complete, clean, and in original packaging** with all tags/labels attached.
– You must include a copy of your original invoice and the RA#.
– **Customer is responsible for return shipping costs** unless the return is due to our error (wrong item shipped or defective upon arrival).
– In cases of our error, we will cover return shipping and issue a full credit/refund (including original shipping charges if applicable).
5. Non-Returnable / Non-Exchangeable Items
The following items **cannot be returned or exchanged** under any circumstances:
– Sewing machines (new or used)
– Parts and accessories
– Special-order items
– Cut fabric or materials
– Thread
– Dress forms
– Gift cards
– Software
– Furniture
– Irons and steamers
Other exceptions may apply—please contact us for clarification before purchase.
6. Restocking Fees & Conditions
– A 20% restocking fee** applies to any opened, used, or non-resalable items (even if in original packaging).
– Exchanges are also subject to the **20% restocking fee** plus any difference in shipping costs from the original order.
– New replacement orders (when applicable) will include free shipping if the original order qualified for free shipping.
7. Missing Bonus / Promotional Items
If any free bonus items, gifts, or promotional products included with your purchase are not returned, their full retail value will be deducted from any credit or refund issued.
8. Deposits, Layaways & Final Sales
– All **deposits are non-refundable** or non-transferable after the first 10 days.
– Layaway purchases are final once the balance is paid.
9. Price Guarantee & Price Match
– If an item you purchased goes on sale or is reduced in price **within 10 days** of your purchase date, we will issue a **gift card** for the difference (excluding Black Friday, Trade Shows, Boxing Day, and Final Clearance items).
– **Price matching** is available only when the identical item is **in stock** at another authorized dealer (not direct-from-manufacturer or big-box retailers such as Amazon, Costco, or Walmart).
– Price match requests must be made **before or at the time of purchase**—no retroactive matches.
10. Indian Status / HST Exemption – Online Orders
Vendors are not permitted to apply the point-of-sale HST exemption for qualifying property or services purchased online or through channels where presentation of a Certificate of Indian Status cannot be verified.
Status Indians, Indian bands, and councils may claim a refund of the 8% Ontario portion of HST directly from the Ontario Ministry of Finance.
11. Policy Changes
Nova Sewing Centre reserves the right to modify this policy at any time without prior notice. The version posted on our website at the time of purchase governs your order.
